Timamu African Film Festival 2015 To Take Place In Tanzania, Submit Your Film Now.

Festival Description

The Timamu African Film Festival (TiAFF) is a showcase of seasoned and emerging filmmakers from the African continent whose works reflect the true stories, hopes and dreams of Africa. If you are an African filmmaker with an artistic vision and voice that needs to be seen and heard, this is your festival.

The goal of the Timamu African Film Festival is to recognize and award talented African independent filmmakers and Writers, therefore helping them to increase their distribution and project funding opportunities.

The TiAFF is here to provide filmmakers with the opportunity to have their work recognized, judged and awarded. We’re a traditional festival looking to showcase entertaining domestic and international materials from talented independent African filmmakers.

Festival highlights include: red carpet opening reception, parade of flags of the countries in the festival, libation ceremony, African drumming and dance, film screenings, post-screening dialogue with filmmakers in attendance, theme parties, African marketplace, food, closing and awards ceremony.

SUBMISSION CATEGORIES: 

Tanzanian Feature and Short Films 
Tanzania is the one of African countries which TiAFF 2015 event will be held, this is why we offered Tanzania Filmmakers to submit their films for free but in order to be qualified as a Tanzania Film, you or a member of your cast must be from Tanzania, or you shot your film, or a portion of your film, in Tanzania.
 
- Films that have a running time of 60 - 130 minutes  
- Short films have a running time of 30 minutes or less.  
- To be qualified as a Tanzania Film, you or a member of your cast must be from Tanzania, or you shot your film, or a portion of your film, in Tanzania. 
- Entry Fee - $0.00

Non-Tanzania/International Feature and Short Films  
Non-Tanzania Films/International Films are any films that have no affiliation to Tanzania country, but you or a member of your cast must be from one of African Countries, or you shot your film, or a portion of your film, in one of African countries.

- Films that have a running time of 60 - 130 minutes  
- Short films have a running time of 30 minutes or less.  
- Non-Tanzania Films/International Films are any films that have no affiliation to Tanzania, but you or a member of your cast must be from one of African Countries, or you shot your film, or a portion of your film, in one of African countries. 
- Entry fee - From $5.00 To $60.00

So that means we accept any film which has been shot in any country in the world but in order to be qualified they have to meet one of our conditions (you or a member of your cast must be from one of African Countries, or you shot your film, or a portion of your film, in one of African countries)


Rules & Terms

The Timamu African Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The Competition reserves the right to refuse entries.

If selected, filmmakers will provide the following materials to TiAFF no later than July 20
• Digital images 
• Press Kits 
• DVD media screeners of the film or an electronic copy if available 
• A picture and short bio/filmography of the director

SUBMISSION FORMAT: 
• Films must be submitted on Blu-ray, DVD or as a good quality electronic file for qualification. 
• Blu-ray discs and DVDs should not include labels or stickers of any kind: only laser printed artwork, if any, should be on the disc itself. Please write your Project Title, your FilmFreeway tracking code on all submssion materials, and Contact number on the disc. 
• If using an online video host like Vimeo, Youtube, etc., please make sure your link is working.

FESTIVAL SCREENING FORMAT: 
The TiAFF will only screen films in one of the following formats: 
• DVD (Region 1 or 0) 
• Blu-ray disc 
• Downloadable High Resolution electronic formats are acceptable. We will not screen your film from an internet site.

All Films Must have English Subtitles or English Language
