It is obvious the year 2014 belonged to Diamond Platnumz when we talk about the Tanzanian entertainment industry. Diamond created history as the first ever Tanzanian musician to get BET and MTV Europe award nominations. He again created history as the first east African musician to scoop 3 awards at the 2014 Channel O Africa Music awards. The superstar stole the show at the Tanzania's Kili Music Awards 2014 by winning all 7 Awards he was nominated for.
Apart from doing multiple shows both in Africa, Europe and America in 2014, the Tanzanian King of Bongo fleva also won International Reggae & World Music Awards as best African entertainer of the year through Mdogo Mdogo, He won All Africa Music Awards(AFRIMA) 2014 as best east African male musician, just to mention a few.
Diamond is the highest paid Tanzania musician currently and the top Tanzanian celebrity to endorse brands from Big companies including Coca Cola and mobile companies, He also inked a deal with DSTV this year.
In 2014 Channel O Africa named Diamond in it's top 10 list of musicians who changed the African music scene.
And when it comes to charitable works, the My Number 1 hitmaker isn't behind too, he has been giving back to the society and this year he took responsibility to pay school fees for children who emerged winners for his My Number 1(Ngololo) dancing competition, the kids were enrolled at a private school "East Africa International School" which is one of the expensive schools in Tanzania.
From My Number 1, Bum Bum, Mdogo Mdogo to Ntampata Wapi hits which got international attention, it is our hope next year Diamond who has become style icon too will do more than what he did in 2014.
