Tanzanian Designers Needed To Showcase At London Fashion Week 2015.

Open call to all Tanzanian or Tanzanian-based designers and fashion houses!
The Tanzanian Embassy, UK in association with the British Council and the British Fashion Council is participating in the International Fashion Showcase 2015 to run from 19 – 24 February 2015 (in parallel with London Fashion Week 20-24 February 2015).
The International Fashion Showcase (IFS) is addressed to foreign embassies and cultural institutes in London and The Tanzanian Embassy has been invited to host an IFS curated exhibition of emerging fashion designers in partnership with fashion councils, institutions and fashion media from around the globe.
We are now inviting submissions from our talented designers. If you fit the following criteria we welcome you to apply for this opportunity.
    Designer Selection:

    Designers may cover womenswear, menswear, accessories, footwear or jewellery and must meet the following criteria:
    1. Be from Tanzania or have a business based primarily in your country

    2. Be an ‘emerging’ designer. We classify this as inyour first 4-5 years of industry. This means that your label/business should havebeen established for no more than 4-5 years. NB: this does not mean 4-5 years since graduation but 4-5 years from when your label was founded or you have been showing at a fashion week.
    3. Please include the following information about your brand:
-    Name of brand
-    Website and contact information
-    A short biography
-    Stockists. It is advisable though not essential 
that designers are market ready and have international stockists in addition to local stockists
-    Fashion weeks/events you show or have shown at
-    A lookbook or selection of high quality images

Awards:
IFS participating countries will have an opportunity to compete for the following three prestigious awards. 1: An award for the best country showcase 2: Best Designer and 3: Best Curator. All participants will have  and opportunity to compete to win these prestigious awards.
Designer Mentoring:
In addition to this, the IFS run a programme for participating international designers with key UK organisations. This programme includes:
-    Tour of London Fashion Week with the British Fashion Council
-    Visit to Fashion Scout
-    Sessions with Blow PR, Centre for Fashion 
Enterprise, London College of Fashion and Not 
Just a Label
-    These sessions intend to give designers an 
insight into London Fashion Week and to build networks in the UK

The International Fashion Showcase was established by the British Council and British Fashion Council to celebrate London 2012 and the Olympic values of International respect, excellence, equality and friendship. It runs in parallel with London Fashion Week and offers the public together with the international press and buyers the chance to explore work by some of the most innovative young fashion designers from around the world. To date IFS has exhibited the work of nearly 350 designers from 50 countries.
