NAOMI CAMPBELL WINS COURT CASE

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has won a legal battle with The Telegraph over a false article published claiming that the supermodel was planning an elephant polo match in India. The newspaper has apologised for the story and has agreed to pay Campbell's legal fees and damages. "There were never plans to hold an elephant polo tournament, so the allegations should not have been published," said Campbell. "However, I am glad that the matter has been resolved and I accept the newspaper's apology."
The Telegraph's article - which ran on November 3 - alleged that the London-born beauty was organising the animal tournament to celebrate her partner Vladislav Doronin's 50th birthday. The newspaper was contacted on the day of publication, but failed to withdraw the piece for a day and a half. The story was then widely publicised in the Indian press and prompted protests outside the party venue.
