The movie ’12 Years A Slave’ in which Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o was featured playing the part of a slave premiered at the Galaxy Theaters in the Tulleride Film Festival in Colorado on Friday night. After this, Hollywood was a buzz with praises for the movie and the Kenyan actress for her remarkable performance.
Predictions are already being made for an Oscar awards nomination according to the Daily Nation with US movie critics and journalists foreseeing awards even for the talented Ms Nyong’o. The movie that is two hours and fourteen minutes long will be released on October 18th and is expected to make an impact in a very big way in the United States.

This looks like the breakthrough the actress was waiting for judging from the reactions already being received and Hollywood better be ready for her. The movie is based on the true story of Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in 1841. It also features famed actor Brad Pitt, actress Andre Woodard and Quvenzhané Wallis.
