INTERVIEW WITH SABBY ANGEL, RAY AND DR. CHENI ASKED ME TO DO THEIR FILMS.

Sabby Angel is a new hottie in the Tanzanian entertainment industry and she is making her Swahiliwood debut with Vicent Kigosi( Ray) in Hard Price and Muhsin Awadhi(Dr. Cheni) in Nimekubali Kuolewa. She is also a talented musician and has dreams to hit the international market both in music and films. Swahiliworldplanet had a privilege to talk with this starlet about her career and personal life so read on the interview below to know more....................

 SWP: Can you tell us your short history?

SABBY: My given name is Sabrina, I am 22 years old and I am from Moshi, Kilimanjaro. I grew up and studied in Mombasa, Kenya, I have a Cambridge degree in marketing accounting. Also I have worked at different jobs besides music.. I sponsor my own music and I am my own manager so far. I live in Dar es salaam, I have one sister called Sandra also studying in kenya and my daddy passed away.

SWP:  You are debuting with Vicent Kigosi(Ray) and Muhsin Awadhi(Dr. Cheni) in Hard Price and Nimeamua kuolewa and both are famous stars in the industry, so how did you get the chance to work with them as a newcomer?

SABBY: I didn't follow the film industry but it followed me. I am a musician whom I sing trance ,house and techno genre. Dr.Cheni and Ray asked me to do their films, the one who discovered me was Dr.Cheni. and he introduced me to the film industry and others followed.

SWP: The industry is very competitive and every actress/actor wants to be on top, so how well are you prepared to put your mark in the industry?

SABBY:  I am not just prepared to put my mark in the industry only but am here to represent Tanzanian film industry at a more international level beginning with Hollywood and Bollywood.

SWP:  Who is your inspiration and your favorite Swahili movies actor/actress and why?

SABBY:  I used to admire and love the work of the late Steven Kanumba as my best actor and I love Yvonne Cherryl(Monalisa) as my best actress.

SWP:  What is the secret of you beauty? are you also doing modelling with the glamorous look you have?

SABBY:  My beauty has no secret.. I got it from my mom... check the picture below... it is God given and I eat well,drink enough water, sleep well and work out(gym) to maintain it. I have been doing modeling for clothing shops for their promotional purposes like Hussein Pamba Kali shop and recently I have been called to South Africa by a clothing line ,they would like to work with me so i haven't been on runway yet.

SWP: We hear you are repeating your music video why so?

SABBY:  I am not happy with my video... it doesn't demonstrate what my song is all about so I will not waste a good song because of a bad video.

SWP:  You have some resemblances with Rihanna! is she your favorite singer?

SABBY: Rihanna is my mentor, my role model and she has been my inspiration for the last 8 to 9 years since her first song Pon de reply. I love her because it is just like she sings what is in my head and my heart. Every time she releases a song, it connects to a true event in my life.

SWP:  Are you in a relationship?

SABBY:  Yes i am in a relationship.

SWP:  What are your likes and dislikes?

SABBY:  I dislike how many big actors and singers don't take time to collaborate and work with newcomers and I am saying that because I have seen what other newcomers go through. Even I did on the side of music.

SWP:  What challenges have you faced as a newcomer both in movies and music?

SABBY:  In the film industry I have not had much challenges unlike in my music because of the kind of music that I sing in English language, so people from other countries know me better than the people from my own country. Also, I have had problems when coming to making my video.

SWP:  They say some actresses specially newcomers are asked for sex to get film offers, how can you describe this?

SABBY:  Yes it is true many do ask for sex...... and not just so that they can work with you but even if you don't need to work with them but as long as you are beautiful they flirt. But gladly I didn't go through that with everyone I have worked with so far, we kept it strictly professional.

SWP:  What is your greatest weaknesses?

SABBY:  My weakness is my son, I love him more than anything in this world and every hard work and struggle I make it is for him, I am a Single mom.

SWP:  Where to see Sabby Angel in five years to come as an actress and a singer?

SABBY:  Five years to come I will be doing movies at an international level and probably in other countries and continents as well in representing my country. And as for my music.. I already have plans to work with universal studios Sweden.

SWP:  Anything you would like to tell your fans?

SABBY:  I would like to tell my fans that I am not here for the fame or money but I am here to achieve my deepest passion of being an international artist representative of Tanzania. I am here to be a good role model to the society and I believe I can and I will because I believe 'I AM THE FUTURE'.. In God's Will.
