FILM REVIEW : HIT BACK

FILM : Hit Back
CAST : Yusuph Mlela, Grace Mapunda, Stanley Msungu,Chuchu Hans, Hemed Suleiman
DIRECTOR : Mtitu Game
RATING : 3.5/5

This is one of the  best stories in Swahiliwood, Great thanks to the story writer and the screenplay was good . The film keeps you glued to the screen due to it's story despite being little long .

Yusuph Mlela and his family are experiencing hardships of life and injustices after the death of his father who was killed by his half brother(Stanley Msungu), their house is taken away by his uncle so Yusuph has nothing to do but making sure that he finds job and work hard for his mother and his young brother who depends on him for his school fees. But Yusuph faces and experiences lots of setbacks and injustices for whatever he tries to do for earnings all that being done by his half brothers Stanley Msungu and Hemed Suleiman whom he thinks he is his best friend who betrayed him while he is his half brother. So Yusuph Mlela decides to go to Mereran ,Arusha to try his luck in mining but there he finds setbacks too but Chuchu Hans who is the female miner helps Yusuph and eventually they become lovers. Chuchu Hans engages to prostitution sectretly so as to live but Mlela do not know that. One day Yusuph gets some gemstones and heads to his room excitedly but do not see his girlfriend Chuchu Hans who is having sexy with his biggest enemy Stanley Msungu. Yusuph is jailed for murder case through Stanley Msungu's plans who can do anything being a rich businessman. In the end everything is known through Hemed who knows the truth.

I might say it is hard to see best stories like this in Tanzanian films, the story is the strength of this film however the director did one mistake for casting some actors like Hemed who did not skin to his character well, even Chuchu Hans failed to impress us as a miner though she was fresh essaying her role as a housewife. costumes were inappropriate in some scenes especially the school boy with long sleeved shirt which is rarely in Tanzanian schools.Grace Mapunda was hot as usual. Many actors did well however Stanley Msungu was normal in his negative role. In the whole this is Yusuph Mlela's film who delivered good performance which deserved best actor nomination. Also the film deserved best story, best screenplay and best director nominations respectively. It is a must see Tanzanian film just find it
