EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH SWAHILI FASHION WEEK BEST FEMALE MODEL OF THE YEAR: NADIA AHMED

She is charming, cute, social and even educated.Here am talking about Swahili fashion week best female model of the year 2012-2013 Nadia Ahmed.Have you attended any fashion show and one of those models was Nadia? What did you see from her?.... yes the model has screen presence,confidence and many more fine characters you would like to see from your favorite model.Some of the fans of this blog asked me to interview Nadia so I hard nothing to do but looking for this beauty queen just for you....

SWP:Hi Nadia! can you tell us about your age and education?

NADIA:Hi!am 20 years born in march 25th, I am a high school graduate, and studying for a psychology degree at present .

SWP:when did you start modelling and what made you enter the industry?

SWP:I started modelling in the summer of 2010 after completing grade 11. The main reason for why I decided to start modelling was to improve my social skills and boost my self-confidence and to explore my femininity this is because throughout my primary school life I had been a tomboy always immersed into sports and others not so feminine activities and I was never a social butterfly.

SWP:How did you feel when you were announced as Swahili fashion week best female model of the year 2012-2013?

NADIA:My excitement about the awards started when I heard I was nominated, that alone gave me hope and was a sign that people appreciate what I do. However as I was sitting backstage with my fingers in my mouth chewing my nails acting tough in my real madrid football jersey and lucky creation red shorts, my fellow models forced me to put on a more fancy outfit quoting "you can't receive your award looking like that, you need to look the part" my fashion family had all the confidence in me they were sure I'd win for they knew I deserved it. The moment they called my name my heart skipped beats. Words can't express how I felt.

SWP:Do you control your body ,diet as a model or going to gym?

NADIA:I thank god for blessing me with such good Genes, I don't gym ( I tried and I failed) It's too unnatural for me. And I don't diet I eat everything but not all the time, every once in a while I spoil myself with junk foods. But being a tomboy and loving sports helps a great deal to maintain a healthy fit body. I am an active person and I love sports, I walk a lot but for a cause and I love hiking! Honestly the outdoors and nature play a big role in keeping me in great shape.

SWP:You are already a celeb in Tanzania so do you get any disturbances from men?

NADIA:According to me I lead two different lives the model and your typical girl next door.. Being a celeb doesn't affect my life or it hasn't yet. When I'm on stage I'm a Fiery vixen but once I wipe off the makeup and put on my specs I'm back to being Nadia.

SWP:how do you prepare yourself when you are going to a model casting for a fashion week or fashion show?

NADIA:Before going to any castings or show, I always make sure that I'm all natural, no nail polish, makeup, fake nails etc I always go to castings clean and natural, with a pair of high heels .

SWP:which international model is ur inspiration?,who is ur favorite Tanzanian designer and model?

NADIA: Kimora Lee is my inspiration for she is a mixed race and unique individual.my favourite tanzanian Designer at the moment is Lucky her designs are simply gorgeous and compliments a woman's body splendidly, and my favourite model is Macrida Joseph her love and passion for modelling makes me happy, she has a great sense of humour and she always makes me smile and laugh.

RAPID FIRE: Ulishawahi kumtokea mwanaume na matokeo yakawaje?

NADIA;Sijawahi kumtongoza mwanaume and I don't think I ever will, I'm a very traditional person I believe men do the approaching not women.

SWP: if you were to get a chance to spend one night with Tanzanian male celeb who would be your choice? NADIA:Rio Paul, he is such an Amazing fun person to be around.

SWP:Do you have extra talent apart from modelling?

NADIA: Apart from modelling I have great designing skills and I'm a great comedian (according to me :D ) and I bake ps: my cakes are out of this world delicious.

SWP:where to see Nadia in five years to come?

NADIA: In 5 years to come inshaAllah I see myself with my psychology degree and struggling for my masters, while building my empire slowly but surely.. I see myself doing great things! I believe my future is Bright. I was born for greatness and its greatness I aim to achieve.
